How To Link Your SmartMoney Card To Your Paypal Account

This tutorial will help you link your SmartMoney MasterCard to your Paypal Account. Even if your Paypal balance is zero, you can use it. Assuming that you have with you your SmartMoney Card and was already link to ATM machine for widrawal purposes otherwise you must call there Hotline, 15177 to request. You must have your Smart number with you. On my case the name on my Smartmoney Card is my wife's name, but the number linked to the SmartMoney card is my personal number. Whether it be, it doesn't matter, as long as you have with you the Smart number linked to the SmartMoney card there'll be no problem. And before anything else, you must have at least 200 peso funds on your SmartMoney and of course an airtime/regular load with at least 15 pesos.

Here is how:

1. Learn about the unlock features of Smart Money MasterCard for offline and online purchase. There are two types of unlock in Smart Money:

1. Unlock for Offline Purchase. Offline purchasing is unlocked by default. When your card is unlocked, you can use your Smart Money MasterCard for shopping at any store that accepts MasterCard. To check its status, go to Smart Money > Card Mgmt > Txn Lock > Check Status. If you found out htat there is no Internet Txns in your SmartMoney menu, just text INTERNET and send to 343. Or just call theit Hotline and request for it.

2. Unlock for Online Purchase. Online purchasing is locked by default. It needs to be unlocked before purchasing online. It automatically locks after 5 minutes.

2. Build some credit history by using your Smart Money MasterCard online and offline

- Use your Smart Money offline. Me, as a cellphone technician, I always use my SmartMoney on offline transactions like paying our unlock codes, credits and others via SmartMoney.

3. Login to Paypal and add your Smart Money MasterCard. Under Profile, choose Add/Edit Credit Card.

Make sure your Smart Money is unlocked for internet purchase before clicking Add Card. Paypal will charge $1 (non-refundable, converted to Peso) to your Smart Money MasterCard. Smart Money will send a text message to your number. And also you will receive a message to your gmail account.

4. Confirm your Smart Money MasterCard. Click Confirm My Card as shown below.

You linked your debit or credit card to your PayPal account on Jul 19, 2014. To make sure the card is yours, we made a small charge to it that you'll need to confirm (and we'll refund the money to your PayPal account when you're done).

The charge creates a unique 4-digit code on your card statement. If you don't see the charge right away, don't worry - sometimes it takes a few days to show up. If you can't check your card statement online, check your paper statement when it comes in the mail (this can take up to 30 days). You will find the charge from PayPal with a 4-digit code.

 NOTE: You will receive your 4-digit code on your number.

Click continue. When you click Continue, Paypal will charge Php 100 to your Smart Money MasterCard to make sure its yours. The charge creates a unique 4-digit code that will show up on a text message that will be sent by Smart Money:

Approval of Php 100.00 purchase at PP*5465CODE Merchant from card Card Name. Avail Bal: Php XXXX.XX Ref: 123456

5. Enter the code. If successful, the Php 100 charge will be refunded back to your SmartMoney.
